What is maritime security?
Maritime security refers to measures implemented to prevent and deter actions that could harm ports, port facilities, or ships visiting these facilities. The Norwegian Coastal Administration is responsible for ensuring that maritime security regulations are enforced in Norwegian ports and port facilities. This is often referred to as port security. The Norwegian Maritime Authority is responsible for the parts of these regulations that apply to ships.
We have several ISPS facilities in Egersund harbour. Some of these are public, while others are privately owned. See the overview below the map.
ISPS is linked to a regulation: “Regulation on the security of ports”.
On the overview map below, the various quay facilities in the harbour are shown. Public quay facilities are marked with a red circle, and private quay facilities are marked with a blue circle.
